Drowned in peace,
embraced by turmoil.
My desire lies among the sharks.
I seethe with anguish.
The sea's waves coo their bitter melodies throughout my body
and whisper of sacrifice.
Unable to break its vice, I lie by the bay.
Stars hide beneath the city lights,
like eyes cloaked in blackest shades.
The illuminations seduce my heart's secrets,
the crys coaxed away from the chamber.
Lights dance over the white foam and enrapture me
with their irresistable glowing bands.
Eyes closed, chests of gold and rubies rise from the water
and offer themselves to me.
But I look again, and the towering ships leave me on the docks.
